I bought my 05 F250 back in late 2017. When it was time to replace the oil cooler, I decided to give this system a shot, and it has performed better than I could ever have hoped. I was in Alaska at the time, and with the -30 below temps, warm ups were quicker, and the oil / coolant temp deltas never were more than 3 degrees apart. I moved to Nevada, to the other extreme with temps routinely over 100 degrees, and the truck never looked back. I pull a 12000 pound trailer often in these higher temps over summits and long high grades and my oil temps never get above 210 degrees. The customer service has been amazing as well. Vince has always answered my questions very quickly, and I even have had the pleasure to talk to him on the phone. Top notch product and top notch service from a great company. I highly recommend this for any 6.0 powerstroke.

I recently purchased and installed IPR's extreme duty EGR cooler. I compaired it to the bulletproof cooler and in my opinion the IPR cooler was a better product. The attention to detail in the welds and the polished finish led me to my decision. The fitment was absolutly perfect and I am very satisfied.

Amazing product, IPResearch is ahead of the competitors. We installed one of these kits and removed it after 500 miles just to see how it did, and the amount of foreign materiel found was staggering. The product is so good that we saved and dried out the materiel and would like to put it into our display case with the unit explaining how much this kit really works. The only issue with this kit is that it works so good that I don't want to use any other kit for our customers. The only kit on the market that will let you filter such a high volume of coolant without restriction. I've been doing this 13 years and can tell you the other kits out there will not filter 5% of what this kit can filter. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a true coolant filtration kit that actually does what everyone is looking for these kits to do. There is no competition that comes close!!!

The IPR oil filter cap is a simple easy spin off filter cap. Just take the two oil lines off the cap and I use a oil filter band wrench and unscrew the cap and remove the filter element. Clean the cap and install a new filter element and Oring. Then just screw the cap back on and tighten it with the band wrench back to where it was clocked too when you took it off. Put the two oil lines back on to the cap and tighten. That’s is all there is to it, very simple. You will know that your engine oil is being filtered with the best filter on the market, Wix filters. There is No hassle at all changing out the filter from the IPR system. I have read and watched YouTube videos of some complaining about the cap leaking or taking off the hoses. The problem is the installers didn’t follow instructions when installing the IPR product. The instructions say clearly do not unbolt and remove the top of the filter cap from the bottom part of the filter cap. When you first install the filter housing and the spin on filter cap and tighten it tight. All you need to do is loosen the three small bolts on the cap and clock the cap so the oil hose fittings point in the right direction. You only turn the cap in one direction. Then you tighten up the three bolts to the toque spects and leave alone. You should not ever need to loosen them again. Where people make mistakes including mechanics is, they think you unbolt the cap to change the filter and that’s completely wrong. So if they do it that way you’ll probably have a oil leak. I do my own work and oil changes. I know that not everyone out there have been a mechanic for fifty years but most anyone with mechanical abilities can do this oil filter change. IPR has made the top quality product and use the top of the line filters Wix. I personally did a few extra thing to the filter cap so if I or my wife ever takes our truck in for a oil filter change someone else they can do it with no problem. After I installed the IPR system, I added three extra bolts to the filter cap to lock it tighter to help prevent someone from removing the top part of the oil filter cap. The extra metric bolt holes are already there for clocking the cap, just add the bolts in the empty holes. With the extra bolts I found that people will look at the filter cap and then investigate how the filter housing comes apart before they just take out the three bolts and pull the cap off. I actually had two holes extra per slot after clocking the cap, so I added a total 6 bolts to the top part of the cap. That made a total of 9 bolts around the cap. I also painted the oil line fittings on the hose and cap side fittings, one color for the inlet side and one color for outlet side. You can take a sharpie and mark the direction to unscrew off and to screw on. The top of the filter cap is vary large so I just ingraved a 2” round brass tag with simple instructions on how to remove the oil filter and cap. Then I glued it to the top of the filter housing. The mechanics I have talked too said they would have no problem with understanding how to change out the filter of the IPR system with the instructions I put on the brass tag.
Now I just want to say, IPR has made by far the best External mount oil cooler with the high flow coolant filter and EGR delete system on the market. The engine runs so much cooler towing and I have more power at lower and top end having done the EGR delete at the same time. IPR has put together great package deals. Just call and talk to Vince.

I should have installed this kit 3 yrs ago when I replaced my last oil cooler. I back flushed it every 6 months or so when I saw deltas start to rise, but the last back flush didn't work, so it was time to change it. If you're replacing your oil cooler anyway, which happens often on a 6.0, you might as well do this and get some piece of mind. The main problem with the 6.0 oil cooler is that the coolant picks up crap from the coolant system. It's basically a system filter....not good. This system resolves 2 major problems on the 6.0, keeps the coolant system 100% filtered, and makes changing the oil cooler a breeze. The beauty about this system is that 100% of the coolant that goes thru this cooler is filtered and when your deltas start to rise, you simply clean out the stainless steel filter and you're good as new. I doubt that I'll ever have to change an oil cooler again in this truck, but if I did have to change it, It would be a 45 minute job because its so easy to get to. The system is well engineered with large 3/4" hoses to make sure your oil cooler gets plenty of coolant and oil passing thru it. Make sure that you buy the filter option and also the stainless steel sump screen option for a flawless installation. I considered the other options available from competitors but I chose this because it solves the problems without introducing a potential new set of problems from air cooled options. The other options use smaller hoses which restrict flow IMO. Labor wise, this kit probably adds 1-2hrs tops to a regular oil cooler install, and that's if you've never done one before.

Installed the high flow kit with manifold system. Install was easy and seems to be working great. Only thing I didn't really care for is that if I spent 300 plus dollars on your system including the mounting bolts that mount the filter housing to the bracket would be nice.

This EGR cooler and oil cooler are the perfect parts to insure your 6.0 continues to run like new. I like the fact that I dont violate emissions control laws as well. Everything fits like factory parts, install is pretty straight forward.

Overall the ipr coolant filter is easy to install and works great catching the extra debris from the cooling system. However with the money spent on the filter, housing, and the manifold I would have hoped the filter wrench would be included. I know it’s only $25 but spending $400+ on a system the filter wrench being included would’ve been nice.

Installed last night. Used the preferred setup. So far, so good. Drained off about 3 gallons of coolant before install so as to not make a mess when splicing heater hose. Put the 3 gallons back plus maybe quart to make up for filter/hoses. Only issue was the 3/4" hose provided was not enough. Was about 8 inches short. Had to run to parts store. Not happy about that.

Put this filter kit in, Gen 2 egr delete, remote oil cooler. Working great. Awsome kit. Wasted money on a bypass filter and a cheaper delete from another company that are now sitting in a box.
Go with the better product the first time.

Excellent product, I recommend this for any engine. Was on my 6.0, then put on my 7.3. The filtering is amazing. Well done fellas! One thing I would add to your kit are ball valves on the filter. That way fluid loss is just what's in the filter bowl.

Using these filters and testing the oil they hold up amazing and work as good or better then stock filters for sure.

This is a beautifully crafted piece and I can't for the life of me ever seeing another HPOP screen failure again. It's a shame you can't see it from the outside.

Quality machined parts. The kit included everything needed and it went on without a hitch. The first cleaning of the filter told me I should've installed this long ago. Only two complaints...if installed per the instructions the filter housing is upside down so you lose about a cup of coolant when the filter is changed. Also...the filter to housing o-ring seems a tad soft. Mine is compressed to nearly flat so my filter is seeping just a bit. The filter has been in place for nearly two years so I don't consider that too bad. All things considered I'm pleased with it.

Definitely worth the coin to not have a torn hpop screen. Quality built and the peace of mind that it will not rip when I go to do the next oil cooler.

Filter is very easy to replace. Lots easier than I thought. Its been a great system that has really helped with the oil temp. IPR has great customer service too.

This setup was recommended to me by my diesel shop. I had severe rust in my block. I was going through an oil cooler every 6 to 8 months. I have run this setup now for 4 years and have not gone through any oil coolers. This is the product to save your engine. No joke it really did keep me from having to buy a whole new engine and thousands of dollars worth of repairs every year to replace coolers

Works as designed. I installed this filter after months of research and was not disappointed with the results. After running filter for 500 miles I removed filter from housing and rinsed with distilled water I used a new unopened gallon jug of distilled dropped filter into jug and rinsed. Once rinsed I strained the water using a coffee filter. The IPR system filter collected a surprising large amount of debris. System works flawless and would purchase another one if they had one for a 6.7 powerstroke. I would recommend purchasing the updated manifold with filter as this manifold works perfect for easy back flushing of the oil cooler when needed. I would and do recommend this to anybody that ask about coolant filters. If I could I would download images of debris removed from filter but unfortunately this review page does not have that capability. Anybody that would like to see the debris feel free to email me.
